All specialists involved in your care are carefully selected for their expertise and experience in their specialty. Further, these specialists have significant experience in care of the bariatric patients and are sensitive to our patient needs.
Our surgeon is one of the most experienced in Central Texas in all types of weight loss surgery and advanced laparoscopic surgery with documented superior results.
Anesthesiologist:
Specialists caring for you at the hospital include Anesthesiologists and other specialty physicians as needed. Some anesthesiologists are selected to care for the bariatric patients on a regular basis to maintain consistency of care and improve outcomes.
Aftercare program
A structured post surgery follow-up is the cornerstone of our practice at AIBL. All your postoperative appointments are scheduled per our standard protocol. Our support staff including dietician and program manager is available to you throughout the day. At AIBL you will not be waiting for days and weeks in order to see your physician or to schedule a procedure such as an endoscopy.
Weight Loss Plateau Management
Weight loss occurs in a stepwise fashion. If you weigh yourself everyday, initially you will see a difference daily. As a couple of months pass by you will notice that your weight loss pauses for a few days and drops a few pounds again. We do not recommend you weigh yourself daily. This is a normal pattern of weight loss.
As you are coming closer to your goal weight, you may experience long pauses of stable weight. Some patients may reach these long pauses sooner than others. For these patients the weight loss plateau management through our office is most helpful. With the available technology we can see your actual energy expenditure and set goals in order to give you the best chance to reach your goal weight.
