Dr. Sashi Ganta, a Board Certified bariatric surgeon practicing in Austin, Texas, is believed to have  performed the first  trans-umbilical LAP-BAND® weight loss surgery in the state of Texas with no visible scar on Tuesday, September 9, 2008.
